Ми дали Loftsmith одне речення, "A 3D printable RC flying wing" (RC-літаюче крило для 3D-друку), без розмірів, деталей чи обладнання, і він спланував літак у сім етапів і сам його побудував: штовхальне крило розмахом 1 м зі стрілоподібністю 37°, повністю надруковане з PLA на Bambu Lab A1 і розраховане на типовий стартовий набір (мотор 2212, регулятор 30 A, LiPo 3S 2200 і два серво MG90S). Центральна гондола вміщує акумулятор під магнітним люком урівень із поверхнею; з кожного боку по дві панелі крила, надруковані стоячи на кореневій грані, з обшивкою 0,8 мм поверх внутрішніх стінок, на карбоновому лонжероні 8 мм і з'єднувачах 6 мм із круткою 2°. Елевони відхиляються на ±15° на CA-петлях, їх рухають серво, що лежать пласко у внутрішніх панелях, а мотор стоїть у гондолі за задньою кромкою. Як зробити
- Спершу надрукуйте центральну секцію й приміряйте лонжерон, акумулятор і люк.
- Вклейте кореневі штифти на епоксидку, насуньте моторну гондолу на хвіст, потім просуньте лонжерон 8 мм крізь центр і обидві внутрішні панелі та склейте кореневі грані.
- Вклейте з'єднувачі 6 мм і зовнішні штифти у внутрішні панелі, потім насуньте зовнішні панелі по з'єднувачах і приклейте їх.
- Склейте дві половини кожного елевона на штифті 3 мм. Вставте CA-петлі в кишені крила й елевона, перевірте хід ±15°, потім дайте вбратися рідкому ціакрилату.
- На столі прикрутіть кожне серво до його кришки, проведіть кабель каналом у відсік і закріпіть кришку 2x M2x6. Вклейте кабанчики в пази елевонів і встановіть тяги із Z-загином.
- Прикрутіть мотор до його пластини, закріпіть гондолу 2x M3x12, установіть пластину 3x M3x8, приклейте вінглети за їхні шипи, а перед першим польотом виставте центрування акумулятором і вантажем у носі.
Поради щодо друку
- Усі деталі з PLA, шар 0,2 мм, 2 стінки й 15 % заповнення, без підтримок.
- Додайте брим 5 мм на високих деталях і сповільніть зовнішні стінки на панелях крила; тонкі задні кромки — це нормально.
- Моторна гондола з PLA м'якне близько 55 °C: якщо після польоту мотор надто гарячий, щоб його тримати, передрукуйте гондолу й пластину з PETG.

Воно для цього спроєктоване і проходить усі інженерні перевірки, але його не випробовували в польоті, і для свого розміру воно важке (близько 58 г/дм²), тож потребує приблизно 40 г вантажу в носі та впевненого запуску з руки. Спершу перевірте вручну центрування й хід елевонів.
