Terms · updated 6 October 2026

The rules, in plain words.

By creating an account or using Loftsmith you agree to these terms. If something here is unclear, email us before you pay.

The short version

  • Your designs are yours. You own what you make with Loftsmith and may print and sell the parts on a paid plan.
  • Free-plan projects are public. They appear as showcases others can see and search for. Paid plans keep projects private.
  • Credits pay for design time. Unused monthly credits roll over and last 6 months; bought credit packs last 12 months.
  • Prints right, or your money back. If your first paid month doesn't get you a part that prints, we refund it. How it works.
  • Cancel any time. A subscription runs to the end of the period you paid for.
  • Check before you trust a part. Loftsmith checks printability, not real-world safety. Test fits and loads yourself.
  • Make lawful things. No weapons or parts made to harm people, and nothing that infringes someone else's rights.

Accounts

You need an account to design with AI. One free account per person; creating extra accounts to collect free credits isn't allowed and we may close them. Keep your sign-in email secure: whoever can open it can sign in as you. You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live (and at least 13).

Plans, billing and cancelling

The Free plan is free. Paid plans (Maker $12/month or $120/year, Pro $32/month or $320/year, Business $149/month or $1490/year) are billed in US dollars by Stripe, in advance, and renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time in Account → Manage billing: the plan stays active until the end of the paid period and then stops renewing. Prices may change; a change applies from your next renewal and we tell you before it does.

Payments aren't refunded for part of a period, except where the law says otherwise. If you're in the EU or UK: a subscription or credit pack starts right away at your request, so you agree that once you have used it, your 14-day right to cancel no longer applies to what you used. If something went wrong, email us; we'd rather fix it than argue.

Prints right, or your money back

If your first paid month of Maker, Pro or Business doesn't get you a part that prints, email [email protected] within 14 days of that first payment and we refund it in full. Tell us in a line or two what went wrong; a photo helps us fix it for others, but you don't need one. The refund goes back to the card you paid with, and the plan ends at the same time, with its credits. It covers your first payment of a plan (monthly or yearly), once per person, and not credit packs or later renewals.

Credits and credit packs

Designing a new part with AI uses credits; the running count shows while it works and you can stop at any time. Sliders, checks and downloads never use credits. A paid plan's credits arrive each month on your billing date; unused ones roll over and expire 6 months after they arrived, and they end with the plan. The Free plan's credits are a one-time start.

Subscribers can buy one-time credit packs (Top-up: 25 credits for $11; Project: 100 credits for $39; Big build: 250 credits for $95; or any amount from 300 to 2000 credits in steps of 50, at 38¢ a credit). Your monthly credits are always used first. Pack credits don't reset at renewal and last 12 months from purchase; they can be used while you have an active plan. If a step fails before it finishes, its credits go back. Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred. If a pack payment is refunded or disputed, the unused part of that pack is removed.

What you own, and what you let us do

You own your designs, the models and files Loftsmith makes for you, and what you upload. You give us permission to store, process and show them only as needed to run Loftsmith for you: building and checking models, syncing projects, and showing a project as a showcase when it is public (every Free-plan project) or when you share its link. Stop sharing a link any time; deleting a project removes it.

On a paid plan you may sell the parts you print from your designs. On the Free plan, personal use only. Ready-made designs and generators in the gallery are ours and are licensed to you for the same uses; third-party components are listed on Licenses.

What you may not make or do

  • Weapons, weapon parts or accessories, or anything designed to hurt people or get around safety devices.
  • Anything illegal where you or the print will be, or that copies someone else's protected design, trademark or patent without permission.
  • Abuse of the service: automated scraping, attacks, reselling access, or trying to get the AI to ignore its rules.

We may refuse a request, remove public content that breaks these rules, and suspend accounts that do.

Checking your parts

Loftsmith checks geometry for printing (fits, walls, overhangs, bed size) and reports estimates, but it can't know your printer, filament or the real load a part will carry. Print a test, check fits and strength yourself, and don't use a printed part where failure could injure someone (climbing, lifting people, vehicles, medical or electrical safety) unless a qualified person has verified it.

Our responsibility

We work hard to keep Loftsmith running and your projects safe, but it is provided as it is, and features can change. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses (lost profits, failed prints, material, machine time), and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited by contract.

Ending your account, and changes

You can delete your account at any time by emailing us from its address; your projects are removed. We may end or suspend accounts that break these terms. If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and tell signed-in users in the app before the change applies. See also the Privacy Policy. Questions? [email protected].
