Apple TV VESA mount behind the TV, sized to your box
Gets the Apple TV box off the shelf and out of sight, tucked on the back of your TV. It sits in an open-sided cradle with tall ribs behind it, and a small gap keeps the box from pressing flat against the plate. Change the box width and height to match yours.

How to print it
Parts
- cradle · PETG · Flat on its back (the side that touches the TV goes on the bed)
115.9 x 127.5 x 50.7 mm at the defaults, so it fits a 180 mm bed. PETG because the back of a TV runs warm and PLA softens around 55 °C. No supports needed: the lips over the box front are 45-degree ramps.
Print settings
- Layer height
- 0.2 mm
- Walls
- 2 (page default); 3 for boxes over 0.5 kg
- Infill
- 15% (page default); 20% for boxes over 0.5 kg
- Supports
- None
- Notes
- At the defaults: about 67 g and 1 h 35 min with 2 walls and 15% infill, or about 94 g and 2 h 12 min with 3 walls and 20% infill. Print in PETG. With the 200 mm VESA option the part is 224.9 x 129.0 mm flat on the bed (from the 'Fits the print bed' check), so it is too wide for a 180 mm bed but fits
Hardware
- 2 × M4 x 12 mm screw (socket or pan head) · Length for the default settings. The 'Screw length for your TV' check on the Check tab recalculates it when you change Plate thickness or Usable thread depth. With the 200 option the mount takes M6 sc
- 2 × M4 flat washer, 9 mm OD · Checked: it seats fully on flat plate with at least 1.85 mm of bearing on each side of the slot. Use 12 mm OD M6 washers with the 200 option (2.30 mm of bearing).
- Cable tie, up to 4.8 mm wide · Loops through the bridge under the port edge to hold the HDMI and power leads.
Assembly
- Check your TV manual for the VESA screw size and how deep the threaded holes are. If it gives a depth, set 'Usable thread depth in the TV' to it. Then enter your box's width, depth and height and read the screw length from the 'Screw length for your TV' check.
- Hold the cradle against the TV back with the foot bar at the bottom over two side-by-side VESA holes (either row) and the rails pointing up. Each slot takes a screw at 75 mm spacing (inner end) or 100 mm spacing (outer end).
- Fit the two screws with washers through the slots and tighten them snug. Do not force a screw that stops early: it may be bottoming out.
- Hold the box port edge down and lower it into the rails from above until it sits on the two corner stops.
- Plug the HDMI and power leads in from below through the open port edge, then loop a cable tie through the bridge on the foot bar and around the leads.
- To take the box out, unplug the leads and lift the box straight up out of the rails.
Good to know
- The VESA holes must be free. It suits a TV or monitor on its stand. If a wall bracket already uses the holes, this cradle cannot go between the TV and the bracket.
- The screw length is worked out from the 'Usable thread depth' slider (default 7.4 mm, a typical value, not taken from your TV). Check your TV manual: a screw that bottoms out can damage the TV.
- The 200 mm option assumes M6 screws. Some TVs use M4 or M8 at that spacing, so check before you buy.
- It uses two VESA holes in one row. Gravity holds the box in the rails; there is no latch. It is meant for an upright TV, and the box comes out if lifted straight up.
- The corner stops cover the outer 14 mm of the port edge on each side (65 mm stays open on a 93 mm box). Make sure your box's ports sit in that open middle span.
- Load is checked for boxes up to 1 kg, the slider maximum. Do not use it for anything heavier.
- IR remotes need line of sight and may not reach a box behind the TV. Bluetooth remotes are not affected.
- Fits, clearances and loads were checked in the Loftsmith engine, not on a printed part. If your box is close to a size limit, print it and test the fit before you rely on it.
