Snap-in net cup holder for 4 in PVC and DN110 pipe
Holds a net cup in a hydroponic pipe so your plant sits right where the water runs. You drill one hole, then the green collar snaps in and grips the cup under its rim. Change the pipe size and the hole saw size to match your own setup.

How to print it
Parts
- holder · PETG · Rim-down: the flat cup seat on the bed, the saddle and the two snap fingers pointing up. When tilted, the part is turned so the cup axis is vertical.
One per hole. At the defaults it is 78 x 78 x 34 mm. PETG because it lives wet, the fingers flex every time it is fitted, and PLA softens in warm greenhouses.
Print settings
- Layer height
- 0.2 mm
- Walls
- 3 recommended for tougher fingers (about 31 g, 50 min); the page stats use 2 walls (about 23 g, 37 min)
- Infill
- 15%
- Supports
- None
- Notes
- PETG at normal settings. Default size is about 23 g and 37 min at 2 walls/15% (31 g, 50 min at 3 walls/15%). It fits the A1 mini bed. Tilted versions are taller and heavier: about 42 g and 64 min at 45°.
Hardware
- Hole saw · Same diameter as the Hole saw slider. Default 64 mm (2-1/2 in); 38 to 76 mm supported. Not printed.
- Net cup · Default is a common 2 in cup: 50 mm under a 60 mm rim, 50 mm deep. Set the Net cup sliders to your cups.
Assembly
- Cut the hole with the hole saw set on the slider and deburr both edges; a burr on the inside edge stops the barbs from seating.
- Turn the holder so the two snap fingers line up with the length of the pipe.
- Push it straight down into the hole until both barbs click under the pipe wall and the saddle sits flat on the pipe.
- Drop the net cup into the seat; its rim rests on the flat top.
- To remove it, lift out the cup, press both fingers inward from inside the sleeve and pull the holder up.
Good to know
- Pipe outside diameter and wall thickness vary by maker. Measure your pipe and print one holder to test the fit before printing a full set.
- PETG is not certified food-safe. Use a food-contact-rated filament if you need that for edible plants.
- The strength figures are engine estimates for a wet plant up to 0.4 kg, not a physical test. The snap fit and its release have not been tested on a real print.
- With holes smaller than the cup (for example 38 mm with a 50 mm cup), the cup sits in a sleeve above the pipe and only the roots reach inside. At 45° tilt the cup bottom sits about 5 mm above the pipe top.
