Pie stacker clips for two pie dishes, 180-330 mm
Lets you carry two pies to the party without squashing the one underneath. Three tall clips hook onto the rim of the lower dish, and the upper dish rests on them with a gap above the pie below. Change the rim diameter and the pie height to match your own dishes.

How to print it
Parts
- clip ×3 · PETG · On its side, chamfered face down: the whole profile lies in the layers, so the post and jaws bend along them. No supports.
19 x 98 x 18 mm and about 8 g each at the defaults. Set the Number of clips slider to 4 for heavy or deep dishes. PETG because the jaws flex onto the rim and it stays stiffer than PLA near a warm dish.

- Notes
- Three clips at the defaults: about 26 g and 51 min at 2 walls / 15% infill (the page figure). With 3 walls / 15%, which makes the 3.4 mm jaws solid, it is about 34 g and 1 h 7 min. Four clips at 2 walls / 15%: about 35 g and 1 h 8 min. PETG at normal settings. Print one clip first and slide it onto
Assembly
- Measure your dishes with calipers or a ruler: the outside diameter across the rim, the rim thickness at the edge, the flat rim width, the dish height from base to rim top and roughly how high the pie rises above the rim. Set the sliders to match.
- With the lower pie cool, push each clip straight in toward the centre so its C-shaped saddle slides over the rim edge until the back touches the glass. Space 3 clips evenly at about 120 degrees (or 4 at 90 degrees) and keep them away from handles or deep flutes.
- Lower the upper dish straight down so its rim lands on all the seats, inside the lips.
- Put the stack in a carrier or box that is at least 164 mm tall and 281 mm wide inside (the defaults) and carry it level.
- To unstack, lift the upper dish straight up, then slide the clips straight out.
Good to know
- The clips stay on the lower rim only by a snug fit. A hard sideways knock can push a clip outward, so carry the stack inside a carrier or box with walls close to the clips, not loose on a car seat.
- Both dishes must have the same rim diameter. The upper dish's rim has 1 mm of play inside each lip.
- Let the pies cool before stacking. PETG softens at about 70 °C.
- Glass rims vary in thickness. The jaws take a rim up to about 0.6 mm thicker than the slider value at the defaults (0.45 mm at the narrowest rim setting). Test one clip on your dish first.
- Fluted, scalloped or handled rims may not seat flat. Place the clips on smooth sections of the rim.
- The top jaw covers the outer 6 mm of the lower rim, so keep the crimped crust edge inside that line.
- Not certified food-safe. The clips touch only the dish rims, not the food.
- The loads are design estimates for an upper dish and pie of up to the Load slider value (1-5 kg). The clips have not been printed or tested on a real dish.
