Creator program terms · updated 25 October 2026

The creator program, in plain words.

These terms apply on top of the Terms of Service when you join the Loftsmith creator program. Where the two differ about the program, these terms win.

The short version

  • You earn 20% for 12 months. Of what each member you brought pays us (excluding tax, after refunds) in the 12 months from their first payment: plans, renewals, plan changes, yearly plans and credit packs. No cap per member.
  • Your audience gets 10 bonus design credits with their first payment, once. Not at sign-up.
  • Earnings become payable after 30 days and are paid monthly through Stripe once they reach $50.
  • Say it's an ad, every time. In the post or video itself: “I earn a commission if you sign up and pay through my link.” The exact rules.
  • Anyone can apply at loftsmith.com/creators. We approve every creator by hand.

Who runs the program

Loftsmith is a trading name of Builddiv Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15090921), registered office 2nd Floor College House, 17 King Edwards Road, Ruislip, London, HA4 7AE, United Kingdom. When these terms say “we”, “us” or “Loftsmith”, they mean Builddiv Ltd, or a company that takes over running Loftsmith. Your agreement is with Builddiv Ltd, and Builddiv Ltd pays you.

We may transfer this agreement, with everything we owe you and everything you owe us under it, to a company that takes over running Loftsmith. We'll tell you by email at least 30 days before. What you have earned moves with it, and you may need to set up payouts with Stripe again for the new company. You can't transfer your place in the program to someone else.

Joining

The program page is public and anyone can apply with their Loftsmith account. It is for makers who design and print functional parts and share that with an audience, so you need at least one design on your Loftsmith account first. It isn't for sellers of CAD or AI courses, makers of other design tools, or deal, coupon, cashback and “best tools” list sites. You must be at least 18 and old enough to enter a contract where you live. We review every application by hand and may decline one without giving a reason. Accounts of the Loftsmith team and blocked accounts can't join.

We can pay creators who live in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States. These are the countries Stripe lets our Stripe account pay out to today. If you live anywhere else, you can still apply: you go on the waitlist, with no link and no earnings yet, and we'll email you if we can pay creators in your country.

How a member becomes yours

You get a personal link, loftsmith.com/go/yourname. There are no codes or coupons. When someone opens your link, their browser remembers it for 60 days (a small cookie, see our Privacy Policy). If they create a new Loftsmith account in that browser in that time, they become your referred member. If they open another creator's link before signing up, the later link counts. A new account is linked once, within 7 days of being created, and then stays with that creator. It works in that browser, and in the browser that opens an email sign-in link asked for from it; a click on a phone and a sign-up started on a laptop aren't linked.

Only new accounts that haven't paid us before count: not your own account, not accounts we find are you or the same person as you (for example, one made on your own device), not duplicates, and not the Loftsmith team's or blocked accounts. Someone who shares your internet connection, at home or on the same Wi-Fi, can still be your member: we check each of their payments before its commission is paid (see Commission below). A member who doesn't make a first payment within 180 days of signing up stops being yours. If someone also came through a Loftsmith member's invite link, your creator link wins and the invite doesn't count: one reward per account. We decide attribution from our records, and our records are final.

Commission

You earn 20% of what a referred member actually pays us, excluding tax and after any discount, for every payment in the 12 months from their first payment. That covers a new plan, its renewals, moving up to a bigger plan, switching to yearly and credit packs. A subscription payment counts for the period it pays for, so a renewal collected a few days late still counts and the one after the 12 months doesn't. There is no cap per member: a member who pays more earns you more.

Commission is in US dollars and only on payments made in US dollars. Payments that bring in no money (an invoice covered by account credit, or paid outside Stripe) earn nothing. Your rate is fixed for each member when they become yours; a new rate only applies to members who come after it. Commission on a payment can be held for a review while we check something unusual, for example the same card on several of your members, or a member who shares your internet connection, and is paid once we're satisfied. If we find the member is you or an account you control, that commission isn't paid.

Your audience's bonus credits

A member who came through your link gets 10 bonus design credits once, with their first payment (a plan or a credit pack). Nothing is given at sign-up or for clicking a link, so please don't promise free credits for signing up. If that first payment is refunded or disputed within 30 days, the bonus credits they haven't used yet are taken back. If that payment is held for a review about the member, the bonus credits come once we're satisfied.

Hold and payouts

Each commission becomes payable 30 days after Stripe took the payment, which leaves time for refunds. We pay monthly: the run is planned on or after the 15th of each month, in US dollars, once what is payable reaches $50. Anything less carries over to the next month. Your first payout includes at most $250 from payments less than 60 days old; the rest follows once those payments are 60 days old.

Payouts go to a Stripe account you set up through our page. Stripe checks your identity and collects your bank and tax details itself, and may ask for more later. Until your payout account is ready, your earnings keep counting. Loftsmith pays Stripe's fees for sending your payouts. If your bank account is in another currency, Stripe converts the money when it pays your bank, at Stripe's rate; your bank may charge its own fees.

Payouts to creators are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement. By setting up payouts you agree to be bound by it, as Stripe may change it from time to time. As a condition of Loftsmith paying you through Stripe, you agree to give us accurate and complete information about you and your business, and you allow us to share it, and information about your payouts, with Stripe.

Refunds and disputes

A refunded payment earns nothing; a partly refunded payment earns commission only on what we kept. A disputed payment (a chargeback) earns nothing while the dispute is open, even when only part of it is disputed, and earns again if the dispute is decided in our favour. If the commission on that payment was already paid out to you, the amount comes off your next payouts. Apart from the fraud case below, we never take money back from your Stripe account or your bank, and we never reverse a payout.

We may set off anything you owe us under these terms against anything we owe you. If we paid you commission because of fraud, self-referral or another breach of these terms, we may also ask you to pay it back and recover it from you as a debt.

Telling your audience (required)

Your posts about Loftsmith are ads, and the law where you and your audience live says people must know that. Every time you share your link:

  • Say in the video or post itself: “I earn a commission if you sign up and pay through my link.” In a video, say it out loud and show it on screen, near the start, not only in the description.
  • For a UK audience, label it “Ad” (or #ad) upfront: in the title, on the thumbnail or as the first word of the post, before anyone engages with it.
  • Next to the link, write “I earn a commission if you sign up and pay through this link”. “Affiliate link”, “*aff”, “#collab” or “may earn a commission” on their own aren't enough.
  • Turn on your platform's paid-promotion or branded-content setting wherever it has one, for example YouTube's paid promotion box.
  • Only say what you have seen Loftsmith do yourself. No made-up results, no fake or paid-for reviews, and no promises about what your audience will earn or save.

These rules follow the US Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides and the UK advertising rules (the CAP Code, with the Advertising Standards Authority's guidance on affiliate marketing). If your own country asks for more, follow that too. We check your first post and look at posts from time to time, and we may ask you to change one.

What isn't allowed

  • Not telling your audience that your link earns you a commission (see above).
  • Search ads on “Loftsmith” or close variants, and ads, accounts or sites that pretend to be us.
  • Deal, coupon, cashback or voucher sites, “best tools” list sites, and pages made only to rank in search.
  • Spam: unsolicited messages, comment spam, or posting your link where it isn't welcome.
  • Paying or rewarding people to sign up or pay, or promising them anything Loftsmith doesn't give.
  • Setting your link in someone's browser without a real click: hidden frames, pop-ups, automatic redirects or extensions.
  • Referring yourself, accounts you control or the same person twice, or anyone through fake or misleading claims about Loftsmith.

If we find any of this, we may withhold the commission involved, ask you to change or remove a post, and close your creator account.

Your data and your members' privacy

We keep your application (the name you gave, your channel link, platform, audience size, country, link name and anything you wrote), our decision and any notes on it, your link's daily visit counts, which accounts are linked to you, and the commission and payout records. Stripe collects your identity, bank and tax details itself; we only see whether payouts are ready, what Stripe still needs, and the payouts we sent.

You see counts and totals only: visits, sign-ups, paying members and money. You never see who your members are, which plan they're on or what they design. The Privacy Policy says how long we keep each part.

Taxes

You take part as an independent business or self-employed person, not as our employee, worker, agent or partner, and you can't make promises on our behalf. You are responsible for reporting and paying your own taxes on what you earn. Every amount we pay you includes any VAT, GST or sales tax due on your services; we don't add tax on top. We don't issue invoices on your behalf (no self-billing): if your tax rules need an invoice, you issue it yourself, for the amount we paid, tax included. Stripe may ask you for tax information, for example a US W-9 or W-8BEN form, and we or Stripe may report payments to tax authorities where the law requires it.

Changes and ending

We may change these terms or the commission with at least 30 days' notice by email. Members who became yours before a change keep earning you the rate and the 12 months they came with. If you don't agree with a change, you can leave before it takes effect.

You can leave any time by emailing us. We may end the program, or your place in it. Unless it ends because you broke these terms, payments made before the end still earn you commission, and we pay it once its hold is over, without the $50 minimum (from $10). If you break these terms, we may close your creator account straight away and withhold commission not yet paid to you while we look into it; commission that comes from or is connected to the breach isn't paid.

Governing law

While Builddiv Ltd runs the program, these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales decide any dispute about them. If another company takes over (see Who runs the program), we'll tell you by email at least 30 days before which company runs it and which law applies from then on.
