MagSafe car vent phone mount
A magnetic phone mount for your car's air vent. A 62 mm round puck holds ten 10×3 mm magnets 1 mm behind a smooth face. Your phone or case carries the metal ring (or MagSafe case), and the puck holds it by magnet. A clip on the back hooks behind a vent slat, with a thicker lower jaw to carry the weight. It's designed for PLA, and it's soft-styled with a rolled back edge and a blended clip root. The slat slot is sized for a 2.5 mm slat, and the slider range covers 1.5 to 5 mm.

Hardware
- 10 × N52 disc magnets 10×3 mm · Glue in with the same pole facing the phone. Check polarity with a spare magnet first.
- Thin metal ring sticker (if your phone or case has no MagSafe) · Stick it on the phone or case, not on the holder.
Assembly
- Glue the ten magnets into the back pockets, all with the same pole facing the phone.
- Slide the clip over a vent slat until the hook drops in behind it.
- Put the phone on the face and let the magnets pull it to the ring.
Good to know
- PLA softens at about 55 °C and a parked car gets hotter than that. PETG or ASA is the better choice for real car use.
- Magnet grip and the clip's hold are estimates, not tested. Check the vent slat thickness and depth with a caliper and set the sliders, and try it before driving.
- A thick metal ring or a thick case weakens the magnet pull.
