Canister intake strainer extension
A 100 mm long slotted strainer that pushes onto your canister filter's 12.80 mm intake tube. The hollow body is a round 45 × 45 mm oval with six rows of 5 mm cuts wrapped all the way around. The total opening is about 30 times the area of the intake bore, so flow won't be choked. A 25 mm socket on top takes the tube until it hits a stop lip. Printed in PLA, it's one piece that stands upright on its flat bottom.

Assembly
- Rinse the print well before it goes in the tank.
- Push the strainer onto the intake tube until the tube end touches the stop lip inside.
Good to know
- I haven't test-fitted the push fit on a real tube. If it's loose or tight, change the Socket fit allowance slider on Adjust (lower is tighter) and print again.
- PLA is fine at normal tank temperatures but softens at about 55 °C. If your tank runs warm or you want it to last longer, PETG is the safer choice.
- If your fish or shrimp are small, the 5 mm cuts may let them in. You can make the cuts narrower with the Slot width slider.
